WHITE PEPPER

 

White Pepper is a mild yet flavourful spice that is obtained from the same plant as black peppercorns. A different processing method ensures that the peppercorn berries are ripened before their outerskin is removed, giving these berries when dried their distinct greyish-white colour and milder flavour. Whole white peppercorn can be used to spice up and flavour various foods and beverages. Due to their distinct whitish-grey colour, these can be freshly crushed and used to flavour various dishes that may require seasonings to be less visually conspicuous, such as white sauces. Since white peppercorns do not have the black outer skins of dried black pepper, when crushed and added to white sauces and other dishes, they largely blend into the dish without speckling and spotting the sauce. White pepper can be used in various food preparations and beverages, particularly if you prefer their milder flavour and colour.
